We held a lively and well-received conference on September 6th, 2025.
Our keynote speaker was Professor Nigel Williams (ProVice Chancellor, Research and Innovation, University of Portsmouth).
His topic was “Systems Practice and Theory and Interdisciplinarity.”
In the morning we had papers on:
- Developing the Curriculum- examples and Benefits of Cross disciplinarity
- Challenges and opportunities for systems transformation in transdisciplinary collaboration: findings from the GALLANT city university project
- Integrated Systems Pedagogy: Not adding but integrating systems thinking into the educational curriculum
- SSM and education for sustainable development
After lunch, Tammi Sinah ran a Lego workshop on systems thinking and serious play! Is this the answer? A fascinating demonstration encouraging creativity in system practice.

The conference closed with a round table discussion on soft systems and its pitfalls.
We then held a short AGM of the society.
